Pre-Match Interview with Shrewsbury Town defender Brogan Cook as she looks ahead to this Sunday’s league fixture against Wyrley Town Ladies.

On going into this Sunday’s game following good form –

“I’m feeling positive and quietly confident. We’ve got a strong squad this season with strength throughout the team. All the girls are training well and we’re really gelling as a group.”

On the teams impressive defensive performances so far this season –

“We’ve grown in confidence with every game and I’m hoping this Sunday we will continue. We’ve been working a lot on playing out from the back and off the ball positioning which is translating into our games. If we continue as we are, and maintain the effort and focus, we’ll be hard to beat this season.”

On Wyrley being a ‘bogey team’ to town –

“Well we’ve got a lot of new players this season, including myself, who don’t have that history with the team so im hoping that won’t be an issue or distraction. We never underestimate our opponents and will be going into this game with a focussed mind and 100% effort.”

On the challenges Wyrely may bring to Town –

“Wyrely have caused upsets for us in the past and will want to build on previous wins. They will certainly have an appetite to beat us again and bolster their league points early into the season. We shouldn’t underestimate this although given how we’ve been performing recently, I’m confident we can outplay them and bring home another 3 points”
