Tom Peevor’s team continued their unbeaten run last Sunday in their third league fixture of the season against Wyrley Town Ladies. In previous meeting Wyrley have been able to get one over on Town but Shrewsbury’s good run of form and recent training performances encouraged them to give Wyrley their all.
Tom Peevor shares his immediate post-match reaction after Town’s outstanding 10-0 win over Wyrley.
On Toms reaction to the game –
Really pleased, we completely outplayed Wyrley all over the pitch and looked a completely different standard. The players who started and came on helped to keep control of the game and were fantastic.
On the defensive ability of the team to secure the first clean sheet of the season –
It was nice to get the clean sheet, the team worked hard in all moments of the game and gave 100%. It was great to see them work hard for each other.
On-going into the game nervous to play Wyrley and if the nerves settled –
We have had some tricky encounters with Wryley but we are very confident at the moment and this was our mindset going into the game. We knew if we committed to the way we play we would be fine.
On finding negatives in such a strong performance and what Tom can take from this game to improve more –
We will review the footage from the game and explore our strengths and areas to develop. The great thing is, our players just want to keep learning and improving. I constantly get messages from them reflecting on their performances, VEO obviously is a great tool for us but only if the players embrace it. And we have a fantastic group of people here.
On continuing the unbeaten run –
Our focus is the next game, as long as we continue to compete in training, improve and maintain aspects of our game the results will look after themselves.
