This Saturday saw our Ladies head west, to the coastal town of Aberystwyth. The team knew they going to be up against a big challenge, and the expectations were met as the team were pushed for the whole 90 minutes.

Harry Brown (assistant manager) reflects on the penultimate pre-season friendly.

  1. On the upcoming final friendly this pre-season

We always knew these last few games of preseason were going to be really tough. I’m expecting a positive performance. I hope to see the team play with a good intensity as fitness levels improve and players will be pushing each other for a starting spot for the first league game.

  1. On what went wrong, leading to conceding 4 goals

I think we started the game a bit slow, we let the game get away from us and didn’t make the most our possession either. Without giving specifics away, we discussed some of the issues leading to a few of the goals and how we need to improve on that before the season begins. The players were quick to recognise this too which is a positive as we look to move forward.

  1. On how ready are the team now at the end of their pre-season for this season’s challenges?

The team are keen to kickstart the season. I think our pre-season games have been a good test for us. We have had some good wins and performances along with some difficult games where we have been able to see the character of the team and areas to improve on to be ready for the season opener.
