07/11/21 pre match interview – Coventry United Women
Shrewsbury will travel to Coventry for their fifth league fixture. So far, the team have been dominant in their matches this season with high scoring games helping create a large goal difference in the league table.
Milly Potter has played a regular role in the squad as one of the full-backs in the starting eleven. She regularly finds herself being a pivotal part to creating attacking opportunities for Town but also showing impressive defensive displays to keep Shrewsbury from conceding and keeping clean sheets.
1) This will be the first away day in many weeks, do you think the team are prepared to adapt to not playing at home and on different grounds?
“I think we are ready and excited for all challenges ahead. We have been able to adapt to the weather conditions so I have all faith in our team to adapt to a different ground.”
2) As we get further into winter the conditions for training and matches get tougher and tougher, how are the team dealing with these tough playing conditions?
“Again, we will adapt to every condition, if we continue to play the way we have been then the weather shouldn’t be an issue.”
3) Momentum is at a high for the team, and with an important FA Cup match next weekend the team will be looking to continue this run of form and momentum through this weekend. How important is it for the team to not drop off this weekend?
“We are motivated to achieve; therefore, work hard at training to ensure we get results on match days. It is crucial we don’t get comfortable because there is always room for us to improve as a team.”
4) Coventry haven’t had the best start to the season, it could be easy for the team to underestimate them going into the game, how key is it for the team to take on the challenges Coventry may put on Shrewsbury just like any other team and not underestimate them?
“It is important for us to not go into this game expecting a win, anything can happen but if we keep playing as a team and push each other than the result should look after itself.”
