Following two wins to start off Shrewsbury Town Women’s pre-season, Assistant manager Harry Brown looks to extend this unbeaten run as they take on Chester FC Women this Sunday.
Harry expects the challenge each game brings to increase in the build-up to the start of the 2021/22 season.
On the strong results of the pre-season so far:
“Yeah, I’m excited for the start of the season. We’ve had two good friendlies so far. Put a lot of good work in pre-season. Obviously, fitness is building. We’re excited to get to some competitive games and see what we can do when it really matters, really.”
On how well the new players have fitted in:
“Yes, we’ve got a lot of new players, but actually doesn’t seem that way. They’ve settled in really quick, there is good connection’s building on and off the pitch.”
“I think it’s shown in the games one of our friendlies. We were a goal down so we were up against it a little bit and they dug in and got the result and then. Past game that we’ve just had. Obviously a really strong win, so new players are settling in really well.”
On the forthcoming games:
“Yeah, we sort of planned our friendlies to sort of get more and more difficult as we build up to the season. Been obviously pushing really hard in training physically to get their fitness up, but also put in place and really important messages that we’re going to have running throughout the season in the way that we play.”
