Walking football is a great way to engage in the sport you love, if you don’t feel able to join in mainstream football. There are lots of reasons someone might seek out walking football, rehabilitating from injury or surgery, weight loss, older age, pre-existing health conditions or new health conditions. Besides the fun factor, walking football can offer a range of health benefits, increasing cardiovascular fitness will reduce blood pressure, increase heart health, support health lung function, release endorphins to boost mood and self-esteem. The NHS / Public Health / Government guidelines recommend adults take 150 mins of moderate exercise a week. The good news is our sessions could be considered moderate to intense exercise – giving you more bang for your buck in meeting these recommendations.
We have highly trained experienced staff on hand to lead the sessions and support you in joining in, no matter your fitness levels. If you have a pre-existing health condition you would like to discuss, please reach out to Kate or Kim before attending. As well as our weekly training sessions, we regularly arrange mini tournaments and matches between our teams, and further afield with fixtures previously having been played against teams from Wolverhampton Wanderers, Birmingham and more.
